Your details are for your order—not for selling on.

Information collected

Order and enquiry forms may collect your name, contact details, delivery address, requested carrier, order contents and notes. A custom request may also include measurements and a photograph you choose to upload. If you create an account, the shop also stores your name, email address, a securely salted password hash and whether your welcome code has been used. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by this website.

How it is used

Information is used to answer enquiries, prepare quotes, make and send orders, provide customer service, prevent fraud and keep records needed for tax and legal obligations. It is shared only where needed to fulfil an order, such as with a chosen delivery company or payment provider.

Order emails

When automatic order emails are enabled, Resend processes the recipient address and the order details included in payment receipts and dispatch updates on our behalf. Order notifications and customer replies are handled through our Microsoft Outlook inbox. These messages are for order administration, not marketing. We keep sending-status records so we can investigate unsuccessful messages.

Anonymous page-view totals

We count views of public shop pages to understand which pages are useful. This feature stores only a date, a public page path and a total count. It does not store IP addresses, visitor identifiers, referrers, search parameters or customer details, and uses no analytics cookies. Account, checkout and admin pages are excluded. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control preferences are respected. Totals older than 90 days are cleared when new views are recorded. These aggregate statistics are visible only in our authorised admin area. Our hosting provider may separately process technical logs to operate and secure the website.

Storage and cookies

The shop stores order and request records securely for as long as they are needed for these purposes. Account sign-in uses a secure, essential cookie and the basket uses essential storage on your own device so it can survive a page refresh. The site does not currently use advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.

Signed-in customers can see only orders linked to their own shop account. The private management area is protected separately by ChatGPT sign-in and a server-side allowlist of approved owner email addresses.

Your choices

You can ask what information is held about you or request a correction by emailing thehobbyistonline@outlook.com. You may also ask for deletion where there is no legal need to keep the information.
